J. Randolph ("Randy") Skovrinski

Washington D.C. area 1986 to Present

Member of the Capital Running Company (CRC) race crew, which is rated one of the best race management companies in the D.C. area. Responsibilities include the setting up of finish line equipment (i.e., scaffolding), the placement of chip mats at the finish line, and on the course, course layout (placement of mile signs, course marking, and cone placement), and the management of water stops.

Some of the most well know races that I have worked with CRC include: Rock & Roll Half-Marathon in Virginia Beach, Richmond Marathon, Army 10 Miler in Washington, D.C., Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in Washington, D.C., Leesburg 10K & 20K in Leesburg, VA, and the St Patrick Day 10K.

2000 to Present
Member of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Race Committee rated one of the best running events in the U.S. While I was member of the race committee I was in charge security (Expo and Race Day), Parking Control, and Course Marshals. Race Director: Phil Stewart. 1986 to 2002
Member of the NIKE Women’s 8K Race committee, rated one of the top women running events in the U.S.  In charge of security, parking and crowd control on race day.  Race director(s): Henly GaBeau, Kathrine Switzer. 1990 to 1992
Member of a security team for finish line area at the Men’s Olympic Marathon Trails (Jersey City, N.J.), which was seen live on ABC Wide World of Sports. 1988
One of the Founding Fathers and member of the Loudoun Road Runners located in Leesburg, VA.  
President of the Reston Runners located in Reston, VA, and a member of the RRCA. Increased membership, created a lively newsletter, designed a club decal that could be displayed on car windows. Started a Saturday breakfast club and initiated a very active schedule of weekend training runs. 1986

Houston, TX area 1981 to 1985
Member of the Long Distance Running Committee, which oversees all running events, resolving scheduling conflicts.  Organized and managed large-scale running events, including the procurement and management of race finish line equipment.  1981 to 1985
Sanctioning and Standards Committee Chairman for The Athletic Congress (TAC), governing body for long distance running, track and field, and race walking in the United States (USAT&F).  Consulted and audited plans with area race directors for sanctioning and liability insurance for their events.   Present at half of the races I sanctioned so as to be available for consulting and advise. Sanctioned an average of 85 races a year. 1981 to 1985
Member of the Houston Tenneco Marathon Committee, holding the position of Finish Line Coordinator. I was responsible for over 70 volunteers that assisted me in setting up barricades and the scaffolding over the finish line. Another large scale running event that I was involved in was the ‘Bayou City Fun Run’ with over 5000 runners, I also held the position of Finish Line Coordinator. 1981 to 1985
Represented the Gulf Athletic Congress as a delegate to the TAC National Convention in Indianapolis and San Diego, respectively. 1983 to 1984
